Boat accident leaves five Taiwanese dead in Vietnam

HANOI, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- A cruise ship tender carrying 18 Taiwanese tourists capsized after colliding with a tourist boat in Ha Long Bay in Vietnam's northern Quang Ninh province on 15:30 Wednesday, leaving five of them dead, local media reported.
According to the provincial authority, the remaining 13 tourists were rescued and brought to shore safely.
The victims include one male and four female; the oldest is a 69-year-old man and the youngest is a 9-year-old girl.
The provincial authority has directed relevant agencies to investigate the causes of the accident.
