Replicas of Pinta and Nina will dock in Louisville for several days

By Associated Press

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Replicas of two of Christopher Columbus’ ships during his first voyage to the New World will be docking in Louisville.
The Pinta and Nina replicas will arrive Tuesday. Public tours will start the next day.
The Nina replica was built by hand without the use of power tools. The Pinta replica was built recently in Brazil and is larger than the original.
While in port, the public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour. Admission prices are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $6 for students ages 5 to 16. Children 4 and under can enter for free.
The ships will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and no reservations are necessary.
The ships will depart Louisville on Sept. 4.
